The Road Less Traveled

Two or three times a year, a group of my friends travel someplace in Thailand that we would not normally visit.  In February we went to Khon Kaen.  Last week, we went to Udon Thani.

Here's the view from my hotel.

There are two rules for these trips - we cannot talk about politics and we must do at least one thing cultural - no matter how minuscule.  Here's me with Ronald McDonald giving a Thai "Wai"

Pat And Kik's Wedding

After dating for 10 years (as long as I've known them), Pat and Kik finally got married.

I can't mention them without reminding everyone that they share the same birthdays with Nuch and I.  Pat and I on Feb 9 and Kik and Nuch one Dec 1 - what are the odds of that.  Apparently, 133,400.

Boom!!!

A few weeks after my mom's first car accident, I had mine.

Although I was blamed for pulling in front of an oncoming car, I'm sure the teeny bopper in the shiny gold dress was texting while driving.

Return Of The Zits

After 20 years of remission, the return of acne was not a sign of extended youthfulness, but Rosacea.

Thank goodness for modern medicine and lasers.  Last week,  I zapped a few dozen  seditious capillaries and 3 days later I was back to looking not a day over 45.

This was the before picture

Bugs

Nobody would ever accuse our kitchen of being tidy, but when we found termites, it turned into a disaster zone.

Here's the termite team drilling holes and pumping chemicals throughout the house.

Fortunately, we found them early and we can save our wood counter top.

You Kill It We Grill It

They say never shop while hungry, so I tried the Grocery Store restaurant before I got started.  It's one of those places where you pick out your meat and they'll cook it for you right there.

I thought I found the deal of the century - an Australian Wagyu for $20.

I was so proud of myself for finding such a great deal and had made plans to make this a weekly tradition - until I got the check.  Turns out my $20 deal was $20 per 100g for a total of $60.   So much for that tradition.
