Off With Their Heads (And Nails)
While waiting for some grilled chicken from my favorite vendor, I caught a glimpse of the preparation, which, unfortunately, I'll never be able to unsee.
Before the wings, breast, and legs are cut up and served in a box, the chicken is given a close crop around the ears and the nails are neatly clipped. The feet are saved and sold separately as a delicacy.

Like Water And Oil
I saw this cat getting a bath at the local pet shop.
Nuch and I can't even get our cats to take a pill. This guy has true skills.

Nirvana
On a recent trip through the Hong Kong airport, I came across this unique, new art form - Hong Kong's Tian Tan Buddha statue built with cans of tuna fish.

Return To Korat
Last week, Nuch and I drove 3.5 hours each way to visit Korat (my old town), and pay respect to Korat's matriarch, Grandma Mo.
The things I do for love and mythology.
Grandma Mo is famous for raising an army of women and children to fend off the invading Lao army, while the men and soldiers were in Bangkok fighting for the King of Thailand.

Saran Wrapped
In Thailand the light switches at new construction sites are usually covered in plastic. At my house, Nuch and I took them off after we moved in. However, at the factory where I work, they're all still covered.
There's one switch in a meeting room that is a bit disturbing.
On the odd occasion that I need to turn this light on (I usually wait for someone else to go in first), I try to convince myself that it's simply two eyelashes that got stuck behind the plastic to be preserved for eternity.

Why Did The Ducks Cross The Road
Holden Caulfield asked where do ducks go when the pond freezes over. I'm asking where are the ducks going when there is no water near my house.
