With the arrival of Krispy Kreme to Terminal 21, Korat has finally joined the developed world.

I must be behind the times because I thought Krispy Kreme only did glazed donuts.

Samut Prakan Rising

We live just outside of Bangkok in the suburban town of Samut Prakan.  Although it's older than Bangkok, it's incomparably less well known.  If Siam Centre is the heart of Bangkok, Samut Prakan is Bangkok's tumor - known mostly for its industrial estates and for being located at the mouth of the Chao Phraya river, where Bangkok's sludge is spewed into the Gulf of Thailand.   But that is all going to change, as the BTS extension and a 10 story Observation Tower near completion.  Pics are courtesy of the local blogger Richard Barrow, a Samut Prakan native.

I recently found myself back in China to help one of our suppliers prepare for an upcoming IKEA factory audit.  Here's a look from my hotel room - same ol' gloomy, grey sky.

The sky is always depressing in China, but in the evening the team took me to a restaurant located in the middle of a lake - one of the best meals I've ever had in China.

Sunday Brunch

Nuch had a tough schedule in January, so we did not see each other much.  When we both had free time on a recent Sunday, we celebrated with a Sheraton Jazzy Brunch

It still bothers me that the Jazzy Brunch and the University of Alabama both share the same inexplicable mascot.

I stopped by an old friend's house recently and was treated to some local delicacies.  Grubs - imagine the flavor of dirt with the texture of pate.  I could only eat a few.
