Birthday Wish At Phuttamontol

Nuch's mom's birthday was this past weekend. To bring her good luck and good health in the coming year, Nuch and I went to the Phuttamontol Park or Buddha Park near her house and released two fish and two turtles that we saved from the market. Yes, apparently some people eat turtles.

Of the many lakes, streams, and ponds in the park we picked this one next to the Golden Gazebo to release the fish.

Here's Nuch saying a prayer by the water's edge while the fish anxiously wait in the bucket next to her.

Across the way, a group of girls, wearing white, were attending Monk camp. What a way to spend your summer.

The lake was a little too big for the turtles, so we found them a small stream that they would find cozier.

Mission Accomplished!

While walking back to our car, we ran into a baby Monitor lizard. I'm still not sure if that's good or bad luck. Here it is sticking its tongue out at us.
