Exodus

These are some pictures I found on the Manager website. It shows the traffic along the main highway between Bangkok and Isaan (Northeast Thailand). Every long holiday, the same thing happens - the first day of the holiday the Northbound traffic is stuck and on the last day of the holiday the Southbound traffic is stuck. A trip that usually takes 3 hours can take as long as 6 hours.

Being that I'm coming from Korat, which is the gateway to Isaan, I am always going against the traffic on holidays - one of the few, if not only, perk of living upcountry.

Most people travel by pick-up with everything piled in back, including the kitchen sink.
