Wat Po And The Reclining Buddha

Here are some pictures from our trip to Wat Po - home of the Reclining Buddha (world's largest, I might add).


A look into the Buddha's sole. It's actually one portion of the 10 foot mosaic that is the bottom of the Reclining Buddha's foot.


These Chedis, also at Wat Po, are the Buddhist "tombstones" of the first 3 kings of the current dynasty.

Another impressive shrine at Wat Po. Not sure who the lady is at the bottom of the picture, but she helps give some perspective as to the size of this Buddha image and its "throne".

This ladiy with the help of her friend or mother is adorning the "Holy Penis" with gold leaf to improve her chances of getting pregnant.
